Ok...so I am like a prepper.
LIKE a prepper. Meaning I sort of throw ideas/money around now and then to calm my over-active worst case scenario imagination. If you've read Maelstrom you may have some notion as to how said imagination works.
So we had some stuff ready to go. Boards pre-cut. Plylox clips for the small windows. (These are easy and cool. You put these toothed springs around your board and they just pop into the window frame and hold themselves.) The rear sliding glass door is too big for those so pre-drilled holes in the boards and the house itself (sealed with caulk in the mean time.) This proved to be a bit of a pain. We leveled our stoop a while back to help drainage and had to trim our boards to line up the holes.
Still, we had what we needed in advance. My neighbors were using scrap wood and old shingle sheets to try to protect theirs the day before the storm. All the stores were sold out or close
